Forensics Product Manager

Position Overview

Exterro is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and technically savvy Forensics Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our market-leading Digital Forensics product portfolio (including FTK® suite).

In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and our diverse user base—ranging from corporate internal investigators to federal law enforcement agents. You will own the product lifecycle from conception to launch, ensuring Exterro continues to deliver cutting-edge, reliable, and legally defensible forensic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the long-term product strategy and roadmap for Exterro’s Digital Forensics solutions, aligning with overall company objectives.

  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Actively monitor industry trends, emerging technologies (e.g., cloud forensics, mobile artifacts, AI-driven analysis), and competitor landscapes to identify new market opportunities.

  • Customer Advocacy: Deeply understand user personas (DFIR professionals, law enforcement, corporate investigators). Gather and prioritize feedback through interviews, advisory boards, and user data.

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Write comprehensive Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and user stories. Partner closely with Engineering and UX/UI teams in an Agile environment to build, test, and ship high-quality features.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to develop go-to-market (GTM) strategies, pricing models, product positioning, and training materials.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product adoption, customer satisfaction, and financial success.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Software Product Management, preferably within Digital Forensics, Incident Response (DFIR), Cybersecurity, or E-Discovery.

  • Domain Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of forensic collection, processing, and analysis techniques. Familiarity with FTK, EnCase, Cellebrite, Axiom, or similar forensic tools is highly desirable.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to grasp complex technical concepts (e.g., file systems, cloud architecture, API integrations) and translate them into clear business and product requirements.

  • Agile Methodology: Proven track record of managing product backlogs and working effectively within Agile/Scrum development frameworks.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently pitch ideas to executives and talk shop with engineers.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or a related technical/business field (or equivalent practical experience). Relevant certifications (e.g., ACE, EnCE, GCFE) are a plus.
