About Vexnovate Ventures
Vexnovate Ventures is building an AI-driven ecosystem for planetary health with four interconnected initiatives (TSBI flood early-warning, Blue Sentinel ocean intelligence, Jeevnetra wildlife conservation tech, and Navique indoor navigation) that share data, infrastructure, and a single mission: measurable real-world impact, starting from Kerala-India, and reaching Africa, Southeast Asia, the Gulf, and beyond.
Our Current Pilot: Blue Sentinel
Blue Sentinel is a satellite-driven marine and coastal intelligence dashboard. Engineering has just begun building against a locked v1 PRD and architecture. Product managers are already in place. What's missing is the person who sits above them, keeps the roadmap, defines the product and its UVP, keeps the engineering task list in sync, and makes sure this pilot lands on time.
Role Overview
This is not a standard corporate product role; it is a partnership opportunity and a leadership seat. You will own the product function end to end, from the Blue Sentinel pilot in front of you today, to how the product gets run across till its final version. You will lead our existing product team, working directly with our Product Managers and Engineering team to strategize, prioritize, and ship. You will have full ownership of product direction, with operational support from the CEO and CTO. We have other initiatives, which you’ll have to get your hands dirty and lead those products as well.
If you are a builder who thrives in ambiguity, can turn a founder's vision and a stack of research documents into a shippable roadmap, and are looking to build equity in a company you help shape from this stage forward, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Product Direction & Discovery
Understand the user, stakeholder, and business problem behind Blue Sentinel (and, over time, our other ventures).
Review existing research, prototypes, PRDs, and pilot feedback — including the Blue Sentinel v1 PRD, technical architecture doc, and engineering roadmap.
Identify assumptions that still need to be tested and turn findings into clear, actionable product recommendations.
Own and maintain a simple, current product roadmap — separating work into now, next, and later.
Keep the product roadmap and the engineering task list aligned at all times; you are the person who resolves conflicts between the two.
Product Requirements & Delivery
Write clear product requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria that engineering can build against without guesswork.
State explicitly what's in scope and what's intentionally excluded — and define how missing, delayed, or unreliable data should be handled (a live concern for a satellite-data product).
Coordinate our Product Managers, give them clear ownership areas, review their work, and remove blockers.
Work with the CTO and engineering team to confirm feasibility and dependencies early, and test completed work against the intended user outcome.
Leading the Product Team
Directly lead our existing product team — our Product Managers are already on the ground; you are the strategic and operational anchor they currently don't have.
Strategize jointly with Product Managers and the Engineering team to make sure priorities, sequencing, and technical feasibility are all in lockstep — engineering has only just begun building, which makes this alignment critical from day one.
Set the operating rhythm: regular updates on progress, decisions, risks, and next steps; confirmed owners and next actions after every important discussion.
Product Performance
Track practical indicators of product health: successful data updates and completeness, data-quality issues, system reliability, whether users can complete critical workflows, alert accuracy, and stakeholder feedback.
Capture pilot feedback from Blue Sentinel's coastal/government contacts and translate it into the next round of priorities.
Cross-Functional & Company Leadership
Partner with the CEO to translate company vision into product priorities — bring recommendations, not just problems.
Respect engineering's ownership of architecture and implementation while remaining accountable for the product outcome.
Work with marketing, sales, operations, and HR so that product information, timelines, and messaging stay consistent company-wide.
As a member of the founding C-suite, help make tough calls, wear multiple hats where needed, and take initiative beyond the strict boundaries of "product."
Qualifications
Proven product leadership experience as Head of Product, VP Product, or CPO, ideally including at least one 0-to-1 product launch at an early-stage or startup company.
Comfortable owning a roadmap end-to-end: from fuzzy founder vision and research documents down to acceptance criteria an engineer can build against.
Direct experience managing and coordinating Product Managers, and working hands-on with engineering teams on feasibility, sequencing, and delivery.
Strong comfort with technical, data-heavy products; experience with geospatial, satellite, IoT, or sensor-driven data products is a genuine plus given Blue Sentinel's architecture.
Track record of working in high-ambiguity, resource-constrained environments and making good calls with incomplete information.
Excellent written communication, able to produce clear PRDs, requirements, and weekly updates without hand-holding and micromanagement.
Genuine interest in climate-tech, ocean/environmental intelligence, or impact-driven products.
The Mindset: What We Expect
The ideal person will treat the company as their own.
Radical Ownership: we do not look for people to manage tasks; we look for a partner who identifies problems and solves them, and who takes individual initiative to drive the company forward, looking beyond the limited scope of "product" when needed.
There are no fixed hours beyond the 15/week minimum, but within that commitment, we need daily engagement and results, not one long session each day. A few hours each day can make a huge difference.
Consistent Communication: because we are a lean, remote, distributed team, transparent and consistent communication is the glue that keeps us moving forward.
Ability to inspire a team, make tough decisions, and take up multiple skills/hats, pivoting between product, ops, and whatever the team actually needs.
Benefits
Equity Stake: as we are currently bootstrapping, there's no salary; this position is strictly equity-based. You are building alongside us, and your compensation reflects the long-term potential of the company.
A seat at the C-suite table: shape the product culture, strategy, and future of the business, not just one feature at a time.
No corporate red tape, freedom to build systems and lead the product function without bureaucracy.
Witness the birth of a startup; the good, the bad, and the "why did we think this would work?" and gain the kind of experience that only comes from building at this stage.
Apply
NOTE: Please only apply if you are able to commit at least 10 hours per week, with daily availability and participation. If you're not able to commit to that right now, please don't apply — we'd rather find the right fit later than the wrong fit now.
