Overview

The Chief Product Officer (CPO) at CenCore holds overarching responsibility for the profit, loss, and sustainable growth of CenCore’s product lines. This role encompasses setting the strategic direction, vision, and management of product verticals, ensuring the development of exceptional products that deliver lasting value to CenCore.

Key Responsibilities

Define Product Vision and Strategy

Develop a clear, inspiring product vision and strategy that aligns with CenCore’s mission and business objectives. This includes:

  • Establishing long-term goals and objectives for the product portfolio.
  • Aligning product strategy with overall company strategy and market trends.
  • Communicating the product vision and strategy to all stakeholders including the product team, executive leadership, and external partners.

Define Innovative Products

Identify and prioritize product requirements, features, and enhancements that drive innovation and meet customer needs. This involves:

  • Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.
  • Collaborating with R&D, engineering, and marketing teams to conceptualize and design innovative product solutions.
  • Ensuring that product development processes are customer-centric and data-driven.

Product Roadmap Ownership

Formulate and own the roadmap for CenCore’s products, balancing immediate needs with long-term innovation. This includes:

  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive product roadmaps that outline product vision, strategy, and timelines.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of product plans.
  • Communicating roadmap updates and progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Team Leadership & Development

Provide both strategic and operational support, setting the strategy and direction while executing on plans. Build and mentor a high-performance product team by:

  • Fostering a culture of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent within the product team.
  • Providing ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities to team members.

Customer Centric Approach

Serve as the voice of the customer, driving insights through user research, feedback loops, and data analytics. This involves:

  • Engaging directly with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points.
  • Incorporating customer feedback into product development and improvement processes.
  • Ensuring that all product decisions are aligned with delivering maximum value to customers.

Cross Functional Collaboration

Work closely with the CEO, COO, and other C-suite leaders to prioritize initiatives that drive innovation, growth, and customer satisfaction. This includes:

  • Collaborating with R&D, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Aligning cross-functional efforts to ensure cohesive and effective product strategies.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to integrate diverse perspectives.

Metrics & KPIs

Define and track success metrics to support product decisions and validate the impact of product investments. This involves:

  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with business goals and product strategy.
  • Monitoring product performance and making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Reporting on product metrics and performance to executive leadership and other stakeholders.

Operational Excellence

Create a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the product team. This includes:

  • Implementing best practices in product development, project management, and quality assurance.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Promoting a mindset of innovation, agility, and responsiveness within the team.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and launching innovative products in a competitive market.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment and managing relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and metrics-driven decision making.
